“Yahweh also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of distress.” — Psalm 9:9
Is BBC Verify truly an initiative working in the public interest—or is it working directly against the public it claims to serve?
David Keighley is a former BBC producer and executive. He knows how the BBC works from the inside. He understands its pathology, its mentality and the institutional intentions of the UK’s largest broadcaster.
Here are his thoughts on BBC Verify.
As we reported in our Daily Updates in May this year, the BBC has removed one of its own “BBC Verify” blogs. That removal raises yet more serious questions about an initiative that appoints itself to scrutinise others while refusing to face equivalent scrutiny itself.
BBC Verify is not merely a supposed fact-checking service. It is a tool capable of controlling the public record and restricting our freedom of speech, born from an organisation with a devastating history of lies, deception, corruption, abuse and manipulation.
Psalm 9:9 reminds us that Yahweh remains the stronghold of the oppressed in times of distress. John MacArthur’s teaching on this passage rightly centres that confidence not in favourable circumstances, but in the unchanging character and justice of God.
The demise and downfall of BBC Verify—and ultimately of the BBC in its present corrupted form—is inevitable. Nothing built upon falsehood, manipulation and abuse can ever remain sustainable. The truth will expose it, the public record will be corrected, and accountability will come—especially given the BBC’s devastating track record.

God bless David Kayleigh. This is not a man speaking from an academic perspective! He has been inside the belly of the BBC beast first hand, so he knows what they are like. He’s labelled them a secular cult for good reason – and that is the least of what they are! Thank you for sharing his voice. More voices of ex-BBC staff are coming out to expose the British Broadcasting Cult.
“Sinister” I recall is how the Daily Mail described us at Lighthouse. But where’s the evidence of us lying to and deceiving hundreds of millions across the globe whilst coercing the British public to pay billions each year to fund this propaganda?
The BBC is indeed truly sinister and that’s why the term BBC Savile Syndrome is such a powerful one.
Phew..there are more ex-BBC employees coming out and telling the truth. It is chilling to hear Mr Kayleigh share the ultimate intentions of the BBC. There was a reason George Orwell based 1984 on the BBC having worked for them too!
The fact that people who have come from within the BBC are speaking out about these things is something to be encouraged given how fearful so many have said they feel to do that if they’re still working there. God bless Mr Keighley and all others like him, Robin Aitken comes to mind, who are willing to put their testimonies openly into the spotlight. Isn’t it interesting too how whistleblowers against the BBC are happy to come out in public without disguising their identities when so often the BBC will do hit-pieces on others where none of their “whistleblowers” are willing to do that. For me those who are is a strong sign of authenticity and integrity.
The BBC is highly skilled at shaping narratives, and there are concerns that organisations such as BBC Verify, or even regulators like Ofcom, can be used in ways that reinforce the BBC’s own position and make its programmes appear more authoritative. As David Keighley said: “BBC Verify Is Truly Sinister.” That statement captures the concerns many people have raised.
This can contribute to further public distrust and concerns about the influence of powerful media organisations on society. Thank you for continuing to highlight these issues and encourage greater scrutiny and accountability. God bless.
Thank you to Mr Keighley for laying what the BBC are ACTUALLY doing whilst they claim to be exposing misinformation and yet are amongst the greatest peddlers of misinformation themselves. It truly is sinister.
I am very glad that people like Mr Keighley, a former BBC producer has called this out. We have spoken to many former BBC employees who have said similar things, calling them corrupt and guilty often of the very wrongdoing that they project onto everyone else. He’s right as well, they were incredibly selective about what they verified and it was never those who agreed with their agenda…
I value how there are more and more ex-BBC people who are coming forward and speaking out. What David Kayleigh shared made me think that what the BBC are doing is taking away our freedom to choose, and that is diabolical. I pray that even more come forward and share their personal stories…
Coming from a former BBC producer, that says everything. It’s surprising they even allowed it to be aired!
To face what BBC has created as a tool to control the narrative, is a level I didn’t initially believe they would go to. It just shows how morally corrupt they are. Down with them! At every juncture scrutiny has to come their way. They’re not trust worthy
As soon as I saw ‘BBC Verify’ launch, my first reaction was ‘Why would a news organisation need a separate unit to verify facts? Isn’t that what you do anyway when you report the news?’
Then I remembered; The BBC only report what they want you to know and how they want you to think about it. So if they are launching ‘BBC Verify’ it’s going to be another system of control and manipulation to, as Mr Kayleigh says, ‘…close down freedom of expression.’
Truly evil indeed.
